The Red OTA for the south-eastern provinces of Türkiye is currently in force, while the OTA for other areas of Türkiye is Amber. Residents who intend to visit the south-eastern provinces of Türkiye, namely Gaziantep, Hatay, Kilis, Mardin, Sanliurfa and Sirnak should adjust their travel plans and avoid non-essential travel such as leisure travel. Those already there should monitor the situation, attend to personal safety and avoid protests and places with large gatherings of people. Residents in Türkiye who need assistance may call the 24-hour hotline of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the Immigration Department at (852) 1868, call the 1868 hotline using network data or use the 1868 Chatbot via the Immigration Department Mobile Application, send message to the 1868 WhatsApp assistance hotline, send message to the 1868 WeChat assistance hotline or submit the Online Assistance Request Form, or contact the Chinese Embassy in Türkiye at consular protection hotline: (90) 5388215530.

Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit – Online Assistance Request Form
- On 1 October 2023, a suicide bomb attack occurred outside the building of the Interior Ministry in the capital city, Ankara, resulting in casualties.
- On 20 February 2023, a magnitude 6.4 earthquake and an aftershock of 5.8 magnitude hit the Province of Hatay in south-eastern Türkiye, resulting in casualties and damages.
- On 6 February 2023, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit the south-eastern Türkiye, resulting in serious casualties and damages
- On 13 November 2022, a bomb attack occurred on Istiklal Avenue in central Istanbul, resulting in casualties.
- On 18 July 2018, the state of emergency imposed since July 2016 was lifted.
- On 17 February 2017, a car bomb explosion occurred in the south-eastern province of Sanliurfa, resulting in casualties.
- On 26 August 2016, a car bomb explosion occurred in the south-eastern town of Cizre, resulting in casualties.
- On 20 August 2016, a bomb attack occurred in the south-eastern city of Gaziantep, resulting in serious casualties.
- On 18 August 2016, bomb explosions occurred in the eastern cities of Elazig and Bitlis, both resulting in casualties.
- On 15 and 17 August 2016, car bomb explosions occurred in the south-eastern cities of Diyarbakir and Van respectively, both resulting in casualties.
- On 15 July 2016, a coup attempt occurred and armed clashes broke out in Ankara and Istanbul, resulting in casualties. On 20 July 2016, the Turkish authorities declared a state of emergency for 3 months.
- On 8 June 2016, a car bomb attack on a police station occurred in the south-eastern city of Midyat, resulting in casualties.
- On 31 March 2016, a car bomb explosion occurred near a police vehicle in the south-eastern city of Diyarbakir, resulting in casualties.
- On 10 August 2015, bomb and gun attacks occurred in the south-eastern Sirnak province.
- On 20 July 2015, a bomb attack occurred in the town of Suruc close to the border with Syria, resulting in serious casualties.

Registration for Outbound Travel Information (ROTI)
Before departing Hong Kong, residents may register via ROTI their travel itineraries and contact details to receive updates on OTA and related information. The Immigration Department may contact and assist the registrants in an emergency.
