Public Consultation on "Improving the Laws on Sexual Offences in Hong Kong"
The public consultation launched by the Security Bureau on “Improving the Laws on Sexual Offences in Hong Kong” has been closed. We will consolidate, analyse and study the views collected during the public consultation period. Subsequently, we will submit the legislative amendment proposals in the form of an amendment bill to the Legislative Council for consideration within 2026, with the target of completing the legislative exercise within the current term of Government, with a view to improving the laws on sexual offences in Hong Kong, the earlier the better, so as to strengthen protection for victims of sexual offences while ensuring that the laws on sexual offences in Hong Kong can keep pace with the times.
