- Since May 2019, there has been violent unrest across the country, resulting in casualties.
- Since March 2019, there have been widespread power outages affecting most of the country. Many services including water supplies, communication, medical services and transportation have been disrupted.
- Residents who intend to visit the country or are already there should monitor the situation, exercise caution, attend to personal safety and avoid protests and large gathering of people. Residents in Venezuela who need assistance may call the 1868 hotline using network data or use the 1868 Chatbot via the Immigration Department Mobile Application, send message to the 1868 WhatsApp assistance hotline, send message to the 1868 WeChat assistance hotline or submit the Online Assistance Request Form , or contact the Chinese Embassy in Venezuela at consular protection hotline: (58) 414-3669883.
