Sudan
    • In mid-April 2023, armed conflicts broke out in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, and various places in Sudan, resulting in casualties.  The security situation in Sudan is highly volatile.
    • On 25 October 2021, the military declared a state of emergency. There were reported disruption to internet, mobile services and access to air services.
    • Residents should avoid all travel to the country. Those already there should attend to personal safety and pay attention to local announcements on the latest situation and notices from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sudan.  Residents in Sudan who need assistance may call the 24-hour hotline of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the Immigration Department at (852) 1868, call the 1868 hotline using network data or use the 1868 Chatbot via the Immigration Department Mobile Application, send message to the 1868 WhatsApp assistance hotline, send message to the 1868 WeChat assistance hotline or submit the Online Assistance Request Form, or contact the Chinese Embassy in Sudan at consular protection hotline: (00249) 990111127.
