Demonstrations and clashes have occurred from time to time. Residents intending to visit the country or are already there should monitor the situation, exercise caution, attend to personal safety and avoid protests and large gatherings of people.
- Demonstrations and protests are expected during the Formula One Grand Prix event to be held between 19 and 21 April 2013 in the capital city, Manama.
- In early November 2012, amid a government ban on all rallies and public gatherings, explosions continued to occur in the capital, Manama, resulting in casualties.

Registration for Outbound Travel Information (ROTI)
Before departing Hong Kong, residents may register via ROTI their travel itineraries and contact details to receive updates on OTA and related information. The Immigration Department may contact and assist the registrants in an emergency.
