Information related to earthquake in Ecuador
  • On 18 May 2016, two earthquakes of magnitude 6.8 and 6.7 respectively hit the coast of Ecuador, resulting in damage and casualties.

  • On 17 April 2016, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit the coast of Ecuador. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre once issued the tsunami warning for the country. The Ecuadorian authorities declared a state of emergency for six provinces. Another strong earthquake of over magnitude 6 hit off the shore of Ecuador on 20 April 2016. Dangers of aftershocks remain.
