The Security and Guarding
Services Industry Authority (the Authority) announced on 28
March 2003 that it had recognized a trade test for Categories A, B and/or C Security
Personnel Permit (SPP) applicants conducted by the Vocational
Training Council (VTC). With effect from 1 April 2003, an
applicant who has sat and passed a trade test recognized by the Authority and announced in
a manner that it thinks fit, within 1 year before submitting his/her application for
Category A, B and/or C SPP, is deemed to have met the criterion of "Proficiency in
Security Work" for issuing an SPP.
