The Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority (“the Authority”) has revised the application forms on new issue/renewal (i.e. Reference nos. SGS 6 and SGS 12) of SCL as well as the Guide on Security Company Licence Application (“How to Apply for an SCL”).
The revised forms provide more comprehensive guidelines on how to complete the forms and a checklist on the necessary supporting documents to be submitted. The revised Licence Application Guide contains more information on the procedures for applying for new issue/renewal of SCL and for variation of SCL conditions. The revised documents will help applicant/licensed security companies have a clear understanding on the licensing requirements, the application procedures and the lead-time for processing a licence application. It is anticipated that with the use of the revised forms and guide, the processing time for a licence application could be shortened.
The revised application forms will be used with effect from 1 June 2009. The existing forms (Reference nos. SGS 6 (8/2005) and SGS 12 (8/2005)) for the above two types of application will no longer be accepted after 15 July 2009.
The revised forms are available at the Secretariat of the Authority (address: Room 813, 8/F, Kowloon East Government Offices, 12 Lei Yue Mun Road, Kwun Tong, Kowloon) and the Police Licensing Office (“PLO”) (address: 12/F, Arsenal House, Police Headquarters, 1 Arsenal Street, Wanchai, Hong Kong). The revised Licence Application Guide is available at the Secretariat of the Authority, PLO and Public Enquiry Service Counters of the 18 District Offices under the Home Affairs Department.
