SGSIA Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority

Quality Assurance System for Recognition Scheme for
Security Training Courses (QASRS)

The QASRS aims to provide the public with information on the basic security training courses which meet the standards recognised by the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority (the Authority). The Authority has invited the Security Services Training Board (SSTB) of the Vocational Training Council (VTC) to develop the QASRS to ensure that training courses approved under the Scheme are properly run and consistently maintained at a standard acceptable to the Authority. Further details of the QASRS are available at “How the Scheme Operates” of this website

The SSTB has recently revised the “Quality Assurance System for the Recognition Scheme of Security Training Courses” (“QASRS”), in particular Clause 2.1.9, to require providers of QASRS courses to keep all documents relating to the implementation of QASRS courses for a minimum of five years instead of three years. The revised “QASRS” has been uploaded on the website of Institute of Professional Education And Knowledge (PEAK) of the VTC at http://www.peak.vtc.edu.hk/cpdc.
