The Guangdong Nuclear Power Station
(GNPS) and the Lingao Nuclear Power Station (LNPS) at Daya Bay are
located about 50 km from the urban areas of the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region (HKSAR). The GNPS and LNPS began commercial
operation in February 1994 and May 2002 respectively.
